Wallis

I was fully expecting this to be one of those polishes that I LURVED in the bottle, but was so-so about on the actual nail - wrong! I was also fully expecting my mum to hate this polish - wrong again! Jeez, not really on the ball lately!

Once again, I am so happy with this recent batch of nail polishes - you're probably bored to pieces by now with all these nail posts, but I swear, I only have one more to try out (from this haul) then I'll switch up my posts a little bit. I may or may not be browsing AllCosmeticsWholesale.com right now...

Like the other butterLONDON polishes, I'm quite happy with the wear on this polish. The photos are from day three, and as you can see there's not too much chippage or wear. I don't think I've mentioned either - I tend to pick at my nail polish, so it's a miracle if it makes it longer than two days really. And again, this is two coats and complete opacity. Win.

I think it's safe to say I love butterLONDON.

The Black Knight

This butterLONDON haul is turning out to be quite the success! Two out of two so far! As you can probably gather from the photos below, I've been wearing The Black Knight for the past couple of days. I am so impressed with this polish. Once again, I was expecting to be disappointed with the opacity as this is a glitter polish - but that expectation was again trumped. Two coats and we have full coverage. The polish has a black base with purple, blue and red glitter - weirdly, it reminds me of the galaxy marble thing from the first Men In Black movie. So amazing.

The wear have been pretty good. This is day three and I only have one little chip on my right hand and minimal wear on the tips of my thumbs. I'm happy with that.

Please try and ignore my cuticles in the below photos. Ew, ew, ew.

Rosie Lee

Let me preface this by saying I am NOT one of those people that is all of a sudden completely and totally consumed with an undying love for rose-gold. I'm just not. I kinda think it looks like copper.

I'm not sure if this polish would fall into the rose-gold category though. It's definitely rose (it is called Rosie Lee after all), but I can't decide if that's all or if there any gold to it. Ah well, you can look at the pictures and decide for yourself.

All that aside, I absolutely love this polish. I was a bit wary that the opacity wouldn't be as amazing as it is in the bottle - and truth be told, with one coat it's not. But I always apply two coats of colour, plus a top coat, and that did it! So woo! This is my first day wearing it so I can't comment on the wear yet, but I'm expecting it to be long lasting, since my other butterLONDON polishes have always held up well. If it turns out to be crap, I'll let you know.

Butter London Haul

I think I mentioned a couple posts back that I had placed an order on Ozsale.com.au for some polishes by butterLONDON - way back on the 1st of July - and they're finally here! I had completely forgotten which colours I had ordered since it had been so long, so it felt a bit like Christmas. I haven't applied any of them yet, but I'm happy so far with the colours I chose - all are quite unique to my collection.

The Nail Files #18

Just a quick nail polish post - I bought the Madison Australia December 2011 Magazine yesterday, which comes with a free Butter LONDON polish, and wanted to post while it was still available. You can choose between Trout Pout, a bright, coral-y salmon colour that I picked so you can see below and a taupe-y/sandy beige colour that I didn't look at the name of. I opted for Trout Pout as it has a cream finish, whereas the beige colour had a bit of shimmer - which I hate in pale polishes. Butter LONDON polished are usually $22 in Australia, so for the price of one of my favourite magazines at $8.95 this was quite the steal. I must admit - I'm quite glad I didn't fork out any more of my hard earned cash for it because I don't think the quality is all that great - it took three coats to get it opaque and streak free - and the colour isn't really one I will reach for regularly. But can't complain, it was a freebie after all!

The magazine issue is quite good actually - I love the true crime section that Madison always has, I have a morbid fascination with that kind of thing. Jessica Gomes looks gorgeous on the cover - she actually went to the same highschool as my husband, I think she was in the grade above him and had a locker just down from him, and he always tells me he had a crush on her. I can see why! How can I get my hair to look like that?

Anyway, on with the polish.

Every time I see the name of this polish I get "Trouty Mouth" from Glee stuck in my head - haha! Sidenote: Glee came back for like five episodes then went off the air for the Christmas break - grr Channel Ten, grr!
